Ingredients

  • 250 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 400 g flour
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 6 tablespoon milk
  • 7 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 ½ kg onion (s)
  • 4 tablespoon margarine substitute (Rama Culinesse) or margarine
  • 300 g sour cream, (sour cream)
  • 200 g ham, ham (cubed bacon)
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Nutmeg, to taste

Instructions

  1. Put the quark in a bowl. Knead with the flour, 1 egg, milk, oil, a pinch of salt and the baking powder to form a smooth quark oil dough. Shape into a ball and wrap in cling film and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into thin notes. Steam in Rama Culinesse or in margarine for about 10 minutes - then remove from the stove. Mix the sour cream, 4 eggs, salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (convection 180 degrees).
  4. Roll out the dough on a greased baking sheet and form a small edge. Spread the onions on top and then pour the sour cream on top. ATTENTION! However, the dough must not be too wet. Then sprinkle with a little pepper and distribute the ham evenly on top.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 45-60 minutes. When the edge is lightly brown, the onion cake is ready. Allow to cool slightly for another 5 minutes and serve while still warm.
  6. A glass of new wine and Federweißer also go well with this.
