Ingredients

  • 4 egg (s)
  • 250 g butter
  • 175 grams sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Nutella or other nut nougat cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 300 grams flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 50 g nuts, chopped or round
  • Butter for the glasses
  • Nuts, ground or breadcrumbs for the glasses

Instructions

  1. Grease 7 screw jars (420 ml) and sprinkle with ground nuts or breadcrumbs. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Then stir the egg yolks together with the sugar and vanilla sugar until very frothy. Gradually add the butter and stir.
  2. Melt the nut nougat cream slightly in a water bath and let it cool down. Then stir into the egg mixture. Mix the baking powder with the flour and stir in the milk alternately. Fold in the nuts and the beaten egg white.
  3. Fill the prepared jars up to half (rather a little less) with batter and wipe the rim clean. Bake at 200 ° C for about 30 minutes. Use the stick sample to test whether the cake is ready. If the stick stays clean, take the jars out of the oven and close the lid immediately.
  4. The cakes are great as a souvenir or - nicely packaged - as a birthday present.
