Ingredients

  • 250 g flour (whole rye)
  • 250 g flour (whole wheat)
  • 20 g yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 50 g lard
  • 2 onions)
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar (herb vinegar)
  • 300 ml water, lukewarm

Instructions

  1. First peel, dice and roast the onions.
  2. Make a yeast dough from the remaining ingredients and finally mix in the slightly cooled roasted onions. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  3. Now knead the dough again and form 8 sticks, each approx. 2 cm in diameter. Then wind two sticks around each other and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with water.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C top / bottom heat for about 25 minutes (bake at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes).
