Panna Cotta

Panna cotta – translated as “boiled cream”. This dessert is well known outside of Italy.

Cook: 3 hour

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 500 g heavy cream
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 50 g sugar
  • 2 leaves of gelatin
  • caramel syrup (or caramel topping) and fresh berries for garnish

Directions

  1. Put the gelatin leaves in water to swell. Pour the cream into a saucepan. Open the vanilla pod, remove the contents, and put in the cream with the pod. Add sugar, put on fire. Boil and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat, remove the vanilla pod. Place gelatin in a saucepan with cream and dissolve, stirring occasionally. Divide the cream into 4-6 small molds and refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Turn the molds over before serving, put the jelly on a plate. Drizzle with caramel syrup (or caramel topping) and garnish with fresh berries.
