Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 250 g quark
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 70 g butter, room temperature
  • 150 g flour, smooth
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 8 plums
  • 8 sugar cubes
  • Flour, for processing

  • cinnamon
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Halve and core the plums, place a lump of sugar in each plum.
  2. Bring salted water to a boil in a medium saucepan while you prepare the batter.
  3. Mix the ingredients for the dough quickly with the hand mixer. To do this, cut the butter into small pieces so that it is well distributed. Shape the dough into a roll and cut into 8 equal pieces.
  4. Dust your hands with a little flour to shape the dumplings. Shape the dumplings until the plums are well enclosed so that water does not penetrate during cooking. Let the dumplings cook in salted water for about 10 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, heat the butter in a pan. Mix together the crumbs, sugar and cinnamon until the mixture is golden brown.
  6. Lift the dumplings out of the water and place in the crumbs and swirl the pan so that the dumplings are covered on all sides with the crumbs.
  7. Serve with a little powdered sugar.
