Ingredients

  • 250 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 175 g semolina
  • 8 plum (s) (plums)
  • 30 g almond (s) (almond flakes)

For the sauce: (cinnamon sauce)

  • 150 grams sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 20 g butter
  • 150 ml cherry or plum juice

For decoration:

  • Almonds (almond flakes), roasted
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix together low-fat quark, salt, flour and egg. Gradually add the semolina. Stir until you get a smooth dough. Wash the plums, pat dry, stone and fill with flaked almonds. Shape the semolina dough around the plums into dumplings with moistened hands. Let simmer in boiling salted water for approx. 20 minutes.
  2. Let the sugar caramelize until golden brown. Stir in the cinnamon and butter. Pour in the cherry juice or plum juice and stir until the caramel has dissolved.
  3. Drain the dumplings and arrange on plates with the sauce. Serve sprinkled with toasted almond flakes and powdered sugar.
