Ingredients

  • 250 g quark
  • 2 glasses flour, sifted
  • 1 tablespoon, leveled baking powder
  • 7 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 500 g coconut fat
  • Icing sugar for sprinkling
  • Vanilla sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Knead a soft dough from the first 5 ingredients. Roll this out about 3 cm thick and first cut out round shapes with a normal glass, then punch small holes in the middle (e.g. with a shot glass) so that they look like donuts.
  2. Heat 500 g coconut oil in a large, but shallow saucepan and fry the donuts in it. Depending on the temperature of the fat, the donuts have to be turned over very quickly once and then placed on a plate with kitchen paper to drain. They shouldn`t get too brown or they`ll get dry. Sprinkle the donuts with powdered sugar and vanilla sugar and serve warm.
  3. Personally, I also bake the small circles that I cut out with the shot glass. That makes a great snack for small children or adults.
