Potato Cutlets with Meat Filling and Tomato Sauce

If you like potato casseroles, then this option in the form of potato cutlets with meat inside will definitely suit your taste. And such potato cutlets with minced meat are prepared very easily.

Ingredients

For cutlets:

  • Potatoes – 500 g
  • Minced meat – 175 g
  • Onions – 100 g
  • Wheat flour – 100 g
  • Hard cheese – 50 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Baking powder – 10 g
  • Cream 20% – 5 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – for lubricating the mold

For the tomato sauce:

  • Tomatoes – 350 g
  • Onions – 100 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Fresh dill – 5 g
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water for 25 minutes, until tender. Drain and mash the mashed potatoes. Cool mashed potatoes for 10 minutes.
  2. Peel the onion, finely grate and combine with minced meat. Season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Add eggs to the cooled mint potatoes and stir until smooth.
  4. Pour the sifted flour and baking powder there. Stir until smooth.
  5. Turn on the oven, let it heat up to 180 degrees. Divide potato dough into 8 equal pieces and roll into balls.
  6. Make a flat cake out of each potato ball. Divide the minced meat into 8 equal parts. Place a portion of the minced meat on each potato tortilla in the center.
  7. Roll the meat-filled potato dough into balls and place in a greased tin. Bake potato cutlets with meat in a hot oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove the dish from the oven and brush the meat and potato cutlets with cream on top. Grate the cheese on a fine grater and sprinkle on the cutlets in the form.
  9. Bake the minced meat and cheese potato patties in the oven for another 10 minutes.
  10. Wash and dry the tomatoes and herbs. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
  11. Peel the onion and chop finely. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, put onions, and fry over medium heat for 5 minutes, until soft. Add the tomatoes to the onion, season with salt and pepper. Stir. Simmer the tomatoes and onions for 15 minutes over low heat. Finely chop the dill, add to the sauce, stir and remove from heat.
  12. Arrange the minced potato cutlets immediately on plates and serve with the tomato sauce. Enjoy your meal!
