Potato Tortillas in the Oven

Another wonderful cake in our collection! A very simple, and most importantly, delicious recipe for potato cakes! Cook the cakes in the oven and watch. The flatbread can be used for stuffing like pita! Heard a lot about this potato cake – that’s right, super recipe!

Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes – 300 g
  • Flour – 150-200 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 50 g
  • Vegetable oil – 30 g
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Sour cream – 3 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds – for sprinkling flat cakes
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon (to taste)

Directions

  1. For the recipe, we need potatoes boiled in salted water. If you prepare everything in advance, then making potato cakes will not take much time.
  2. Knead hot boiled potatoes with butter in mashed potatoes. (If you are using potatoes that have cooled down, it is better to grate them on a fine grater and add melted butter.) If the potatoes are not salty enough, you can add a little salt.
  3. Add vegetable oil and egg to mashed potatoes, mix well.
  4. Mix flour with baking powder and add parts to mashed potatoes, stirring. We do not add all the flour at once.
  5. Knead a soft, elastic potato dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough on baking paper into a layer 3-4 mm thick.
  7. Cut out round cakes from potato dough using cutting.
  8. Remove excess dough.
  9. We turn on the oven to warm up. Lubricate the potato cakes with a thin layer of sour cream. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  10. We send the cakes to bake. We bake potato cakes in the oven for 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 210 degrees.
  11. Soft, tasty and flavorful potato cakes! We tried to fill a couple, it turned out great!
