  • Pitted green olives – 100 g
  • Red lentils – 100 g
  • Carrots – 200 g
  • Olive oil – 1-2 tbsp
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida (100%) – 0.25 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – on the tip of a knife
  • Ground smoked paprika – 0.25 teaspoon
  • Turmeric – 0.25 teaspoon
  • Water – 200-250 ml

  1. Prepare the foods you need to make hummus.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and sauté peeled and diced carrots.
  3. Add spices and lentils.
  4. Pour in hot water so that it completely covers the lentils. Add salt.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook lentils and carrots over low heat for about 25 minutes until lentils are cooked through
  6. Cool lentil mixture and add olives.

  7. Whisk everything together with a blender.
  8. Add more salt to the hummus if needed.
  9. Red lentil hummus can be served warm or chilled.
