Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 250 g butter
  • 200 g suar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

For covering:

  • 1 kg apples

For painting:

  • apricot jam

For the cast:

  • 75 g powdered suar
  • some rum

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter until frothy. Stir in the sugar and vanilla sugar. Gradually add the five eggs and keep stirring. Mix the flour with the baking powder and add a tablespoon at a time. Pour the dough into a size 26 springform pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. Core, peel and dice the apples and place on the batter.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven at 175 ° C top / bottom heat for 65 minutes.
  4. Brush with warmed apricot jam immediately after baking. To let it cool down.
  5. Mix a viscous glaze from the powdered sugar and the rum. Use it to glaze the cooled cake.
