Scandinavian Cranberry Cardamom Buns

Initially, the Scandinavian buns with cardamom flavor included lingonberries, but I didn’t have them, so I replaced them with cranberries. The combination of sour berries and sweet condensed milk turned out to be quite tasty and unusual.

Servings: 16

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Flour – 400 g
  • Fresh yeast – 15 g
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – 150 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 40 g
  • Ground cardamom – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 pinch

For filling:

  • Cranberries – 16 tbsp
  • Boiled condensed milk – 16 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Heat the milk slightly and dilute the sugar and yeast in it. Leave on for 10 minutes.
  2. Melt the butter and cool. Stir in salt, cardamom and egg.
  3. Pour the egg-oil mixture into the milk, stir.
  4. Add the sifted flour and knead the dough. Cover it with a towel and put it in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. When the dough is right, divide it into 16 equal parts and make thin flat cakes.
  6. Put condensed milk and berries, pinch the edges and tuck them on the sides.
  7. Place the pies on a parchment-lined baking sheet with the seam down. Bake at 200 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Take ready-made Scandinavian cardamom buns with cranberries and condensed milk from the oven, sprinkle with icing sugar.
