Ingredients

  • 450 g flour, spelled flour type 630 (or type 550)
  • 1 teaspoon honey, sugar or sugar beet syrup
  • 2 teaspoons butter or margarine
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 ½ cube yeast, (corresponds to approx. 22g)
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water, sieve the flour and mix everything together. Knead the dough vigorously (approx. 5-10 min) and cover it in a warm place for approx. 20 min. Then knead the dough again, but not too vigorously. Let it go for another 20 minutes.
  2. Cut off 7 pieces and shape them into long rolls (similar to baguette rolls). If the dough sticks too much, use a little more flour to shape, this will make the finished rolls look nice and rustic. Cover and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 240 ° C using a large casserole dish with plenty of! Put water on the bottom of the oven.
  4. After proofing, cut lengthways with a sharp knife and place in the preheated oven.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes at 240 ° C, then switch down to 200 ° C and bake for another 10 minutes.
  6. You can also take the rolls out of the stove after approx. 15 minutes and freeze them and finish baking them later.
