Sponge Roll with Surimi Sticks and Cheese

Another delicious idea for a festive table! Biscuit roll with crab sticks and cheese is a snack that no one can refuse! It is easy to prepare, the products are the simplest. Treat yourself and surprise your loved ones!

Ingredients

For the biscuit:

  • Eggs – 6 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil – 6 tbsp
  • Milk – 3 tbsp
  • Flour – 6-7 tbsp
  • Baking powder – 2 teaspoon
  • Dill greens – 2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 2 pinches

For filling:

  • Crab sticks – 250 g
  • Hard cheese – 100-150 g
  • Cucumber – 1/2 pc.
  • Mayonnaise – 2-3 tbsp + for decoration

Directions

  1. Let’s start with the test. We prepare the necessary products. We immediately divide six eggs into whites and yolks.
  2. We send the proteins with a small pinch of salt to the mixer to beat until stable peaks.
  3. Add the remaining salt, milk, and butter to the yolks. Mix well.
  4. Combine baking powder with flour. Mix well.
  5. Add finely chopped dill and flour with baking powder to the yolk mass. Mix well again.
  6. Now we combine the protein mass with the yolks. Take your time, mix with folding movements.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
    We spread the biscuit dough on a prepared baking sheet (mine is covered with baking paper) and evenly distribute. We send the baking sheet with the dough to the oven.
  8. We bake the biscuit at a temperature of 200 degrees for 12 minutes. Then let the biscuit cake cool on a towel.
    Turn over the cooled cake and carefully remove the paper.
  9. Preparing the ingredients for the filling.
  10. Rub the cheese on a fine grater.
  11. Here we rub crab sticks on a coarse grater. I have frozen crab sticks – it’s easier to rub them this way. Leave one crab stick for decoration.
  12. Cut the cucumber into thin cubes (do not use the central part with seeds).
  13. Add a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise to crab sticks with cheese, mix.
  14. We distribute the filling over the biscuit cake.
  15. On one side in a line, layout the cucumber cubes.
  16. Gently wrap the sponge cake with the filling in a roll.
    You can wrap the roll in foil and let stand for an hour in the refrigerator.
  17. We decorate the roll to your taste. I applied strips of mayonnaise and put grated crab sticks on them.
  18. The favorite taste of crab salad and tenderness of dough make this roll with crab sticks a delicious decoration of the festive table!
