Ingredients

  • 2 thick potatoes, waxy
  • 1 thick onion (s)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 cl grain, 28% - 32%
  • 100 ml cream
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion, cut in half, cut several times lengthways and 2 times across and cut into small cubes. Peel, quarter and thinly slice the potatoes. Cut the cheddar into small cubes.
  2. Heat a pan with a few drops of oil and lightly brown the onion in it. Remove the onion from the pan and set aside. Fry the potato slices in about 1 tablespoon of oil and season with the salt, cayenne pepper and the chilli flakes. Then deglaze the potatoes with the grain and cream. Bring the liquid to the boil briefly and add the cheddar. When the cheddar is melted, add it and the onions. Arrange and serve the potato and cheddar pan.
