Wheat-Rye Yeast Cakes with Kefir, with Garlic

Homemade bread has many varieties, and this variety is always tasty and very aromatic for almost everyone! Prepare wheat-rye yeast cakes with kefir and garlic. Pastries go well with different dishes instead of bread.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Kefir – 200 ml
  • Mayonnaise – 50 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Water – 50 ml
  • Sugar – 15 g
  • Vegetable oil – 60 g + for the formation of cakes
  • Flour – 150 g (1 glass with a capacity of 250 ml) + for working with dough
  • Rye flour – 200 g
  • Pressed yeast – 15 g
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Salt – 5 g

Directions

  1. Add sugar to warm water and crush fresh yeast. Stir, cover with a napkin, and leave in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Sift wheat and rye flour. Stir.
  3. Pour the egg into a deep bowl. Add salt and vegetable oil. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Add suitable yeast to the egg mass. Stir.
  5. Add half of the flour mixture. Stir with a spoon.
  6. Pour in kefir. Stir until smooth.
  7. Add the other half of the flour. Stir with a spoon.
  8. The result is a viscous sticky dough with the consistency of a thick paste. Cover the container with the dough with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1 hour.
  9. Peel the garlic, pass through a press and add to the mayonnaise. Stir.
  10. After an hour, the dough increased noticeably in size.
  11. Sprinkle some wheat flour on the board. Layout the sticky dough and knead a little into a bun.
  12. Lubricate your hands with vegetable oil. Divide the dough into four pieces. Form koloboks.
  13. Cover the baking sheet with quality parchment. Spread each bun with your hands into a flat cake and place it on a baking sheet. Select the size so that 4 cakes fit on a baking sheet at a short distance from each other. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  14. Take a cooking brush and brush each flatbread with garlic mayonnaise. Send the cakes to bake for 30-40 minutes. The baking time depends on the power of the oven and the size of the cakes.
  15. Wheat-rye yeast cakes on kefir, with garlic, are ready. In my oven, the top of the baked goods is not too browned compared to the underside.
