Zucchini Sandwiches with Cheese

Zucchini sandwiches with mozzarella cheese are a delicious hot snack, a great alternative to regular sandwiches. The zucchini base is baked in the oven – the sandwiches are low-fat and very tasty.

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Zucchini or zucchini – 500 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Flour – 50 g
  • Mozzarella cheese – 70 g
  • Fresh or dried garlic (optional) – to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil (if necessary) – for lubricating the mold

Directions

  1. Wash the zucchini, peel, grate. Season with salt, stir, and leave for 10 minutes. Then squeeze out the pulp and drain the juice that has separated.
  2. Add the egg and pepper. You can add garlic to taste: fresh through a press or dried.
  3. Add flour.
  4. Stir to get a homogeneous thick mass.
  5. Cover the baking sheet with parchment. Oil it if necessary. Divide the courgette dough into 4 parts and put it on a baking sheet, forming rectangular pieces.
  6. Heat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the pieces for 20 minutes. Then turn over with a wide spatula and bake until golden brown for about 10 minutes.
  7. Place slices of cheese on two zucchini blanks.
  8. Cover with the other halves and put the zucchini sandwiches in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
