Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 300 g wheat flour, or spelled flour, or mixed
  • 150 ml water
  • 20 g yeast, fresh
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil

For the herb butter:

  • 40 g butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 3 teaspoons herbs, TK 8 herb mixture
  • 0.5 ½ small onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Pepper from the grinder

Instructions

  1. Make a kneading dough from flour, water, yeast, sugar, salt and oil and work it round until it is smooth and pliable. Cover with a cloth, set aside and let rise for about 15 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, melt the butter, finely dice the onion and garlic and mix well with the herbs and salt and pepper.
  3. Knead the dough again and roll it out into a rectangle, about 5 mm thick. Brush the dough sheet evenly with the herb butter. Cut into strips about 5 cm wide, fold them up like an accordion and place in a loaf pan lined with baking paper. Let rise again for about 15 minutes and bake in the preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 25 minutes.
  4. The bread can be served lukewarm or cold.
