Ingredients

  • 250 g rice
  • 500 g turkey meat
  • 250 g shrimp (s)
  • 1 can pineapple (pieces), drained, collect the juice
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 5 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • a lot curry
  • some oil
  • salt
  • possibly chilli
  • possibly spice (s) your choice

Instructions

  1. First cook the rice as usual. Process the canned pineapple juice, sour cream, mayonnaise and plenty of curry (mild or hot powder depending on your taste) into a sauce.
  2. In the meantime, cut the turkey meat into bite-sized pieces and fry them in a pan with a little oil. Fry the pineapple pieces with the meat and then add the honey. Let simmer a little more on a low level. Add the prawns and cook to taste.
  3. Then mix the meat, the cooked rice and the sauce together in a large saucepan. If necessary, season with salt, curry, chilli The imagination knows no limits.
  4. In Africa the dish is mainly eaten cold, like a salad. I always do enough so that there is definitely something left for the next day.
  5. According to oral tradition, this recipe comes from South Africa. I received it without specifying the amount and I always cook it myself to my liking, but it should come about with the amounts.
