Almonds in a Spicy Glaze

Glazed almonds can be stored at room temperature in sealed containers for up to 2 weeks.

Ingredients

  • Raw almonds – 2 1/2 cups
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Salt – 1 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper – 1 teaspoon
  • Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Water – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Pour the almonds in one layer onto a metal baking sheet. Fry for 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally to heat the honey and water for 1 minute. Pour in almonds, mix well.
  3. Transfer the almonds to the sugar mixture and stir. Transfer the almonds to baking paper and dry.
