For the dough:
Flour – 630 g
Butter (softened) – 60 g
Water (warm) – 390 ml
Dry yeast – 1 tbsp
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Salt – 1 teaspoon
To cook the dough:
Water – 2 l
Honey – 3 tbsp
For sprinkling bagels (to taste):
Poppy
Sesame
Sea salt
Dried garlic
Spicy hard cheese
Dried rosemary
Directions
Make a depression in a bowl of flour, pour out the water. Add sugar and yeast, let stand for 5-7 minutes.
Then add salt and soft butter. Knead soft dough, cover with foil and let stand for about 1 hour. The dough should double in size.
Lightly knead the finished dough and divide into equal parts of 140 g. Round the workpieces and grease with vegetable oil. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Roll each ball of dough into a long rope. Fold the tourniquet in half and weave a pigtail.
We fold the pigtail into a donut. It turns out very nicely. We quickly form the rest of the bagels.
We also need 2 liters of boiling water, honey, as well as several types of sprinkles: poppy seeds, sesame seeds, cheese, rosemary, dried garlic, sea salt.
Add honey to a pot of boiling water. Stir and gently dip the bagels in boiling water for 40 seconds.
Carefully remove the bagels from the boiling water, let the water drain a little and sprinkle each piece with sprinkles.
We bake bagels in an oven preheated to a temperature of 230-250 degrees. The baking time depends on your oven, the bagels should turn golden.
The result is very tasty and beautiful buns that you can cut and add any filling to them. The dough is delicious, the cooking method is interesting! You can freeze the workpieces before boiling, and when necessary, lower them in boiling water for 1 minute without defrosting.
