  • 60 g butter
  • 20 g yeast
  • 300 ml milk

Instructions

  1. Put 500 g flour in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon sugar and 2 teaspoons salt.
  2. Melt 60 g butter. Dissolve the yeast in the milk and add the melted butter, add the whole mixture to the flour.
  3. Mix the flour with the liquid from the middle. Knead the dough well until it is supple. Cover and let rise twice as much in the warmth. Shape the dough into two equally long strands that are slightly thicker in the middle, braid and place on a prepared tray. Whisk 1 egg, mix the yolks with a little water and brush the braid with it.
  4. Bake the plait in the preheated oven at 220 ° C in the lower half of the oven for about 45 minutes.
  5. Tapping the bottom should make it sound hollow.
