- 6 stalks asparagus, fresh or from the jar
- 6 slices cooked ham
- 6 slices processed cheese, e.g. Chester
- breadcrumbs
- 1 egg (s)
- 1 tablespoon margarine

- Wash and peel fresh asparagus and cook in salted water until firm to the bite. Drain the asparagus.
- Place one slice of cheese on top of each slice of cooked ham. Place the asparagus on one edge of the ham and roll the whole thing up. Fix with a toothpick.
- Beat the egg in a bowl and stir with a fork. Put the breadcrumbs on a plate. Turn the rolls first in the egg, then in the breadcrumbs until they are well covered with breading.
- Leave out the margarine in a pan and fry the asparagus rolls brown all over.
- Goes well with potato or pasta salad and is great to prepare. The rolls are also really tasty when cold. For people who don`t like asparagus, just leave it out. Tastes good too.
