Cabbage Rolls with Minced Meat, Rice and Quince

Stuffed cabbage rolls with minced meat, rice and quince are a delicious homemade dish that your household will certainly appreciate. The use of quince and dried mint adds a unique pleasant aroma to cabbage rolls. Juicy filling, rich in meat and herbs, makes the dish very satisfying. So even the largest company will not be hungry

Ingredients

  • White cabbage – 1.5 kg
  • Minced pork and beef – 800 g
  • Quince – 450 g (2 pcs.)
  • Round grain rice – 150 g
  • Onions – 250 g (2 pcs.)
  • Tomato paste – 130 g
  • Dried mint – 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro – 15 g
  • Fresh parsley – 7-10 g
  • Fresh dill – 7-10 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Sour cream for serving – to taste

Directions

  1. We prepare the necessary products.
    During the cooking process, you will also need warm boiled water.
  2. We wash the cabbage and cut out the stalk.
  3. Put the cabbage in a saucepan and fill it with water. Bring the water to a boil and cook for about 20 minutes, until the cabbage leaves are soft.
  4. Rinse the rice thoroughly and pour 250-300 ml of water. We put on heat and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes. If the liquid remains, drain.
  5. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
  6. Grind the greens.
  7. Combine minced meat, rice, herbs, onions, dried mint, salt and black pepper in a bowl.
  8. Mix thoroughly.
  9. Using a brush or sponge, thoroughly wash the quince. We remove the core. Cut the quince pulp into small slices.
  10. Remove the leaves from the cabbage and cut the compaction on the leaves with a sharp knife.
  11. Put about 1 tablespoon of the filling on the cabbage leaf.
  12. Roll up the stuffed cabbage leaf with an envelope. We do this with the rest of the leaves and the filling (we put a few leaves aside). From the specified amount of products, 25-30 cabbage rolls are obtained.
  13. Dilute tomato paste with 250 ml of water.
  14. Line the bottom of the pan with the remaining cabbage leaves.
  15. Spread the cabbage rolls tightly, and between them – quince slices.
  16. Fill cabbage rolls with tomato paste with quince.
  17. We cover the pan with a plate, pressing the cabbage rolls. This will help keep them in shape. Simmer cabbage rolls over low heat for 50-60 minutes.
  18. Stuffed cabbage rolls with minced meat, rice and quince are ready. We serve them with sour cream.
