- Lightly toast the bread slices in the toaster. Meanwhile, mix an egg, salt and pepper in a shallow bowl.
- Top the toast with ham and cheese. If you like, you can brush the toast with butter or cheese. Cover with the second slice of toast. Soak the toast sandwich on both sides in the prepared egg.
- Heat the butter in a pan on the stove. Put the sandwich soaked in the egg in the pan and fry brown on both sides.
