Ingredients

  • 100 g flour, smooth
  • 200 g bread (s) (dumplins), or stale rolls or white bread cubes
  • 200 g cheese, rated, e.. Emmenthaler, beer cheese, Tilsiter, etc.
  • 1 medium onion (s), finely chopped.
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Chives, cut into rolls
  • Margarine, or oil, for frying
  • 1 liter broth your choice, hot

Instructions

  1. Knead a firm dough from the ingredients flour, dumpling bread, grated or diced cheese (I always use both and use leftover cheese), chopped onion, salt, pepper and chives with a little water.
  2. Shape dumplings out of this and press flat. Fry until golden brown on both sides in the hot fat.
  3. Serve in hot soup (cube soup or beef soup).
