Cherry Chutney

An appetizing, amazingly aromatic sauce originally from India I want to suggest you to make it at home. The set of ingredients is actually pretty simple, like the process itself. I recommend you remember!

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • Cherries – 250 Grams
  • Onion – 1 Piece (red)
  • Apple – 1 Piece
  • Candied Ginger – 2 Teaspoons (or 1 teaspoon fresh)
  • Dry red wine – 100 Milliliters
  • Apple Cider Vinegar – 50 Milliliters
  • Sugar – 4 Teaspoons
  • Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon stick – 1/2 Piece
  • Cardamom – 3 Pieces
  • Salt and Nutmeg – 1 Pinch
  • Hot Pepper – 1 Pinch

Directions

  1. Wash cherries, dry, remove seeds from them.
  2. Cut the onion into medium cubes.
  3. Peel the apple from the core and skin, chop it into cubes.
  4. Prepare all the necessary spices. You can always vary this set to your liking.
  5. Put all ingredients in a saucepan and put on fire. After boiling, reduce heat and simmer chutney over low heat until thickened.
