Ingredients

  • 450 g whole wheat flour
  • 35 g cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pack dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoon cane sugar, heaped
  • 200 ml water, lukewarm
  • 125 ml milk (whole milk), lukewarm
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Fat for the shape
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease an approx. 25 cm large loaf pan. Sieve the flour and cocoa into a bowl. Mix in the salt, dry yeast and sugar. Add water, milk and oil and work into a firm dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured work surface until it is smooth (takes about 4 - 5 minutes). Now put the dough in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  3. When its volume has doubled, knead the dough briefly again. Place in the prepared dish and, covered with a kitchen towel, let rise again in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C (top / bottom heat) and bake the bread for 25 - 30 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.
