Chocolate Pudding (in the Oven)

Chocolate pudding is an incredibly delicious dessert that will perfectly complement your festive dinner. The pudding is delicate in texture, but with a very rich chocolate flavor. Cooking such a pudding is not at all difficult, the most important thing is to “make friends” with your oven and not overexpose it.

Ingredients

  • Black chocolate (I have 50% cocoa) – 100 g
  • Milk – 150 g
  • Cream (I have 33%, but any fat content will do) – 50 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Sugar – 30 g
  • Flour – 20 g (1 full tbsp) + for preparing forms
  • Butter – for lubricating molds

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170-180 degrees first. Also, prepare baking dishes. You can bake the pudding in one large form (about 18 cm in diameter), but it must be whole, it can simply “run away” from the split mass. You can also take portioned bowls. I used cups. I like to cook in portions more. Pudding is easier to serve in the portioned form (by the way, if you cook in one form, then in the finished form you need to scoop the pudding with a spoon, you simply won’t be able to cut it), it bakes faster and cools faster. Grease the selected forms with a thin layer of oil and sprinkle with flour, shake off the excess. Set aside.
  2. Put chocolate broken into pieces into a saucepan (to make the process go faster, you can chop the chocolate with a knife), pour in milk and cream. Place on low heat and heat until the chocolate begins to melt.
  3. Remove from heat and stir until smooth. If the chocolate is not completely melted, then re-heat the mixture slightly.
  4. Combine eggs, sugar, and flour in a bowl.
  5. Whisk them until smooth. No need to whip the mass!
  6. Continuing to stir the mixture, pour in the chocolate mixture.
  7. Pour the resulting mixture into prepared portion molds or one large mold.
  8. In order for the pudding to cook evenly, it is better to bake it in a steam bath (this step is not necessary, you can bake it without a bath, but if your oven, like mine, bakes slightly one-sidedly, then I advise you not to neglect this step). Therefore, place the dough forms in a large deep dish and pour boiling water into it. The water level should be up to the middle of the molds.
  9. In this form, send the pudding to the oven for 10-15 minutes. The time will depend on the size of your forms. It is very easy to check the readiness of the pudding. To do this, the form needs to be slightly moved – the middle should tremble a little, like a cheesecake.
    Remove the finished pudding from the mold with water and let cool completely.
  10. Serve this pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Berries will also be in place here.
