Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients, except for the apples and butter, and stir until smooth with the mixer until the batter is not too runny. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Core and peel the apples, cut into small pieces as desired and add to the batter. Mix everything well.
  2. Butter a casserole dish generously and pour in the dough. Then bake the whole thing for about 1 hour until it has turned a nice brown color. Take out of the oven, sprinkle with sugar and let cool for 20 minutes.
  3. Now you can either bring the Clafoutis straight to the table in the form or, if you have the courage to take the risk, throw it out of the form and then serve it, which of course allows more decoration variations.
  4. A good, chilled Cider Bouché, a Crémant de Loire (Vouvray) or simply a glass of champagne goes well with it.
  5. Attention to the organic chefs: It is better not to try the recipe with 100% wholemeal flour! My wife has had very bad experiences with it. However, up to a quarter of whole wheat flour can be done without any problems.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
