Dark Chocolate Mousse with Cointreau Liqueur

This delicious chocolate dessert will be the perfect end to a romantic dinner, especially on Valentine’s Day, as love and chocolate are almost synonymous. Liqueur Cointreau will add a citrusy-alcoholic flavor to the palate of this special evening.

Ingredients

  • Black chocolate – 400 g
  • Cream (30-36%) – 250 ml
  • Liqueur Cointreau – 25 ml
  • Flour – 200 g
  • Sugar – 10 g
  • Vanilla – 1 pod
  • Orange confiture – 30 g
  • Cookies – 100 g

Directions

  1. Heat the cream to 80-90˚С (almost to a boil).
  2. Add the seeds from the vanilla pod and the pod itself.
  3. Pour in the flour, stirring constantly with a whisk.
  4. Add sugar and Cointreau liqueur. Stir continuously until thickened.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Melt the chocolate in a water bath. Add the thickened cream to the melted chocolate.
  7. Stir until smooth.
  8. We spread the mousse into molds (portioned dishes) and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  9. Grind the cookies into crumbs.
  10. Add cookies and orange confiture. Decorate the chocolate mousse as desired – for example, fresh mint and an orange slice.
