We will be happy to prepare sweet dumplings from lean dough with aromatic and spicy apple filling with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Inexpensive, from the most popular products, tasty – a real find for a lean menu! Feel free to experiment!

Ingredients
Flour – 500 g
Water – 250 ml
Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – 1 pinch
For filling:
Apples – 4-5 pcs.
Sugar – 50-100 g
Ground cinnamon – to taste
Ground nutmeg – to taste
Cloves (dried buds) – 2 pcs. (taste)
Additionally (optional):
Butter – to taste
Directions
Wash the apples and pat dry with towels. Cut the skin off the apples.
Cut the apples into medium cubes. Put them in a hot skillet, add sugar and spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves. (If the cloves are not ground, but in buds, do not forget to throw them away after stewing.)
Stir the apples, simmer covered for about 15 minutes, until soft.
Evaporate excess moisture. The filling for the dumplings is ready, cool it.
Knead the dough. To do this, pour the vegetable oil into a heap of sown flour (about 300 g is about 2 cups of 250 ml), add salt, stir.
Pour water into flour in portions and knead the plastic dough.
Then, gradually adding the remaining flour, knead the soft dough. When the dough stops sticking to your hands, do not add any more flour. Use the remaining flour to roll out the dough. Cover the finished lean dough for dumplings with cling film or a lid and leave for 10-15 minutes at room temperature.
On a floured surface, roll the dough into a layer 2-3 mm thick. (The dough can be divided into several parts for ease of handling.) Using a glass 6-7 cm in diameter, cut out circles from the dough.
Put the filling on the dough pieces. Approximately 1.5 teaspoon.
Form the dumplings. In this form, the semi-finished product can be frozen and boiled as needed. In total, 22 dumplings were obtained.
Boil the lean dumplings, dipping them in salted boiling water. Catch with a slotted spoon 1-1.5 after surfacing.
If desired and for those who do not fast, add butter (sour cream) to the pan with the remains of the spicy-sweet syrup, put the dumplings there, and stir until the syrup and butter (sour cream) are evenly distributed.
Serve the spicy caramelized apple dumplings right away, while they are warm and flavorful.
