Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb
  • 10 ml olive oil
  • 120 g bacon, streaky
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • 2 medium onion (s)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tomato (s), ripe
  • 20 ml wine, white, dry
  • Paprika powder, noble sweet
  • 1 liter water
  • 200 g white bread, deep-fried
  • salt and pepper
  • vinegar

Instructions

  1. Cut the meat into pieces and season with salt, pepper and paprika. Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry in the olive oil. Then add the meat and brown. Finally, add the crushed garlic cloves and the onion rings to the meat and brown them too. Add the tomato in small cubes and the white wine and let it steep a little with the lid closed.
  2. Now add the water and cook on a low flame until the meat is done.
  3. Then season again with salt, pepper, paprika and a little vinegar (possibly also piri-piri).
  4. Cut bread into slices and deep fry. Arrange the bread on a platter and pour the meat and sauce over it. Sprinkle with parsley.
