Fish Baked with Zucchini and Sour Cream Sauce

Fish, baked with zucchini and sour cream sauce, is an easy-to-prepare, but a very tasty option for a full lunch or dinner. We get both the side dish and the main dish at once. Any fish can be used, in our version – hake fillet.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Sea fish (fillet) – 300 g (hake)
  • Young zucchini – 450-500 g
  • Onions – 100 g
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
    For the sauce:
  • Sour cream (15% fat) – 250 g
  • Flour – 1 teaspoon
  • Butter – 30 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Parsley (greens) – for serving (optional)
  • Hard cheese – 40 g
  • Bread crumbs – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Prepare all products according to the list. Immediately turn on and preheat the oven, setting the temperature to 180 degrees.
  2. While the oven is heating, peel the onion, rinse, dry, and cut into small cubes.
  3. Heat some oil in a frying pan, put the onion, and fry it for a couple of minutes so that it just becomes soft.
  4. Cut the fish fillet into small portions.
  5. Grease the oven dish with oil, put the fish, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Put prepared onion on top of the fish.
  7. Choose young zucchini, rinse and dry them. Cut the courgettes into small cubes.
  8. Place the zucchini in a dish on top of the onion.
  9. Transfer soft butter and wheat flour to a separate bowl.
  10. Grind butter and flour together.
  11. In the same pan where the onions were fried, put the sour cream, heat for 10 seconds. Add mashed butter and flour.
  12. Stir the sauce with a spatula until the mixture is smooth – this will take no more than one minute.
  13. Transfer the sauce over the zucchini. It can also be lightly seasoned with salt and pepper.
  14. Grate hard cheese on a medium grater into a separate bowl. Add breadcrumbs there, mix.
  15. Place the cheese with breadcrumbs on top of the sauce. Bake fish with zucchini for 35-40 minutes.
  16. After a while, carefully remove the container from the oven
  17. Arrange the dish on plates. You can serve it with any greens, fresh vegetables.
