Fish in Uniform Ingredients

  • Fish fillet – 500 g
  • Fresh spinach – 3 bunches
  • Potatoes – 600 g
  • Eggs – 4 pcs.
  • Sour cream – 3 tbsp
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Ground nutmeg – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Grated lemon zest – 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Ground pepper – to taste
  • Spices (optional) – to taste
  • Salt to taste

Fish in Uniform Instructions

  1. Rinse the spinach, scald with boiling water. Boil the potatoes in their skins, cool, and peel.
  2. Salt and pepper the fish fillets, add spices to your liking, and sprinkle with lemon juice.

  3. Grate boiled potatoes, add yolks, sour cream, nutmeg, pepper, grated lemon zest. Beat the egg whites and add to the potato mass.
  4. Grease a baking dish with oil and put part (half or a little more) of the potato mass into it.
    Wrap the fish (slices or a whole fillet, if small) in spinach leaves and place them on top of the potatoes. On top of the fish in spinach, place the remaining potato mixture. Drizzle with melted butter.
  5. Bake the fish and potatoes in the oven for 35-40 minutes at medium temperature and brown for another 5 minutes, increasing the temperature. Garnish the skimmed fish with lemon, green onions, and herbs.
