Fish Soup “Finnish Motives”

Simple, hearty and delicious fish soup with cream.

Ingredients

  • Salmon (“Fish soup set”) – 1 pc. (400-500 g)
  • Potatoes – 200-300 g
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Onions – 1 pc.
  • Homemade cream – 150-200 g
  • or Cream 33% – 150-200 g
  • Salt – 1-2 teaspoon
  • Black peppercorns – 5-6 pcs.
  • Dill – 1 bunch

Directions

  1. Rinse the head, tail, salmon ridge. Remove the gills. Peel and wash the onion, cut in half. Put the “fish soup set” in a saucepan. Add 3 liters of water, salt, bay leaf, half an onion, black peppercorns. Bring to a boil, carefully remove noise, cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Then take out the fish and onions. Discard the onion.
  3. Strain the broth.
  4. Finely chop the raw half of the onion.
  5. Peel and chop the carrots.
  6. Peel, wash and chop the potatoes. 1-2 potatoes do not need to be cut.
  7. Pour the broth back into the saucepan, bring to a boil. Add onions, carrots and potatoes. Cook for 15 minutes.
  8. While the vegetables are boiling, carefully remove the flesh from the ridge, tail and head of the fish.
  9. Take out a part of the potatoes (about a quarter) and mash.
  10. Add cream and a little broth to the crushed potatoes. Mix.
  11. Wash and chop the dill.
  12. Add crushed potatoes, fish and herbs back to the broth. Bring to a boil and cook fish soup for another 5 minutes.
  13. Fish soup with cream is ready.
