Fried Fish Burgers

Burgers are prepared with fried catfish fillets, vegetables, and mayonnaise sauce.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Catfish, fillet – 4 pcs. (120 g each)
  • Lettuce leaves (cut) – 1 glass
  • Red onion (cut into slices 0.5 cm thick) – 4 slices
  • Tomatoes (cut into 0.5 cm slices) – 8 slices
  • Mayonnaise – 0.5 cups
  • Cucumber pickle – 1 tbsp
  • Chopped capers – 2 teaspoon
  • Salt
  • Spicy sauce (hot) – 1/8 teaspoon.
  • Wheat flour – 2 tbsp
  • Ground paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder – 0.2 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – 0.25 teaspoon.
  • Egg whites (slightly beaten) – 2 pcs.
  • Yellow corn flour – 2/3 cup
  • Vegetable oil
  • Oblong buns – 4 pcs. (50 g each)

Directions

  1. Turn on the oven to preheat to 225 degrees. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and place in the oven in the middle position.
  2. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, brine, capers, hot sauce, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine wheat flour, paprika, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the whipped egg whites into another shallow bowl.
  5. In a third bowl, mix together the cornmeal, 1/8 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
  6. Take fillets one at a time, first coat in wheat flour on all sides, then in proteins, and finally in corn flour.
  7. Put the breaded fillets on a heated oiled baking sheet, lightly sprinkle the fillets with vegetable oil, and place in a preheated oven for 6-8 minutes.
  8. Turn the fillets over, sprinkle with vegetable oil and cook for another 6 minutes.
  9. Cut the buns in half. On each of 4 serving plates, place one half-base bun, on which 1/4 cup lettuce leaves, 1 fillet, 1 slice of onion, and 2 slices of tomato.
  10. Grease each half-top of the bun with 4 teaspoons of mayonnaise sauce. Cover the burgers with these tops and serve immediately.
