Ingredients

  • 500 g spahetti, thin (spahettini)
  • Salt water
  • 0.5 ½ cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 ¼ cup sesame oil, possibly increase to 1/2 cup
  • 1 cup sugar, brown or honey
  • 3 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 ¼ cup sesame seeds, possibly a little more
  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 0.25 ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 ¼ cup sauce (teriyaki seasoning sauce)
  • 3 clove (s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 0.25 ¼ cup sugar, brown
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped ginger root, finely chopped or /4 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Sesame oil for frying

Instructions

  1. First prepare the sesame noodles. To do this, cook the spaghettini in salted water until al dente. Meanwhile, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar in a bowl until the sugar dissolves. Or shake these ingredients well in a twist-off glass. Pour the sauce over the spaghettini, mix with the spring onion rings and sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Set aside and let everything marinate.
  2. For the ‘Funky Chicken’, mix the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, garlic, cane sugar and ginger in a bowl so that the sugar is dissolved. Quarter and pickle the chicken breasts, cover with the marinade on all sides and leave to work in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
  3. Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade. Heat the sesame oil in a pan or in a wok and fry the marinated breasts one after the other, approx. 10 minutes each. Pour in a little more sesame oil and remnants of the marinade.
  4. Let the breasts cool down a little and cut diagonally into thin strips. Place on the marinated sesame noodles and serve. Instead of the chicken, you can also have salmon.
