Giant Potato Pancake (in the Oven)

Grated Potato Cheese Casserole is a giant potato pancake you can feed your whole family!

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 500 g
  • Egg – 1 pcs.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pcs.
  • Hard cheese – 70 g
  • Vegetable oil (for lubricating the mold) – 1 tbsp
  • Dried basil – 1 pinch
  • Dried oregano – 1 pinch
  • Ground paprika – 1 pinch
  • Ground dried garlic – 2 pinches
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater.
  2. Place the grated potatoes in a deep bowl and cover with water. Peel the onion and cut into half rings. Add onions to potatoes.
  3. Rinse the potatoes with onions under running water to remove the starch. Place vegetables in a colander and drain. Squeeze the vegetables well and transfer to a bowl.
  4. Add spices to potatoes and onions. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. Add cheese to the bowl. Drive in a chicken egg. Mix all ingredients well. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper. Lubricate the paper with vegetable oil.
  5. Put the potato pancake mixture on a baking sheet and flatten. Send the baking sheet to an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Remove the prepared grated potato and cheese casserole from the oven. Cut potato pancakes into portions and serve with sour cream or your favorite sauce.
