Ingredients

  • 2 kg potato (s), large, peeled, grated, floury cooking
  • 2 medium onion (s), peeled, grated
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 250 g ham, diced
  • 4 tablespoon fried onions, heaped
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly parsley
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Place a colander / colander in a larger bowl.
  2. Grate the peeled potatoes into the sieve (small rasps)
  3. When that`s done, squeeze the mixture with your hands over the sieve and transfer it to another bowl.
  4. Let the drained water rest a little so that the starch in it can settle on the bottom.
  5. Now carefully pour off the water and add the remaining starch to the grated potatoes.
  6. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Season to taste with pepper and salt.
  7. Put neutral oil in a non-stick pan and let it get hot. The ground should be well covered.
  8. Use a wooden spoon handle to test whether the oil is hot enough (bubbles should form on the handle).
  9. Add the mixture tablespoon at a time and form cookies from it.
  10. Bake on both sides until golden brown.
  11. Degrease a little on kitchen paper.
  12. They can also be eaten cold.
