Grated Apple Pie

Grated apple pie – crumbly, with a slight sourness and sweet dough. This is one of my family’s favorite pies. I also like it because it only takes 30 minutes of free time.

Cook: 40 mins

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • Butter – 120 Grams
  • Wheat flour – 250 grams
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Sugar – 5 Tbsp. spoons
  • Apples – 2 Pieces (large)
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. To make grated apple pie, we need to sift the dough. Add baking powder, salt and sugar to the dough. We mix everything.
  2. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and mix with the flour mixture. Rub the dough and flour with your hands. We get flour crumbs.
  3. Drive 2 yolks into the dough and add 1-1.5 tbsp of cold water. Knead the dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and cool in the refrigerator (10-15 minutes).
  4. Divide the dough into 2 pieces. Lubricate the form with oil, cover the bottom with parchment. Place half of the dough on the bottom of the mold. Flatten.
  5. Grate apples (without skin). Place the apple shavings on top of the dough.
  6. On top (directly on the apples), grate the dough through a grater. Spread the grated dough evenly.
  7. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Bake the pie in the oven for about 20 minutes. We remove the ruddy cake from the oven. Let us cool it down. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
