Ingredients

  • 400 g flour
  • 2 medium egg (s)
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 bag baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 thick onion (s), diced
  • 3 tablespoon herbs, chopped, to taste
  • salt
  • nutmeg
  • possibly bacon, diced

Instructions

  1. Place a large saucepan with salt water. Steam the onion in the butter until translucent.
  2. Use the dough hook of the hand mixer or the wooden spoon to make a fairly firm dough from the flour mixed with the baking powder, eggs, milk, salt and nutmeg. Mix in the onions with the butter and the herbs. Egg-shaped dumplings are cut off with a tablespoon and cooked slowly in salted water for about 10 minutes. They open up strongly.
  3. Shortly before application, the dumplings should be torn open very lightly with two forks to keep them loose and airy. Serve immediately.
  4. If you like, you can sear about 40 g of bacon cubes with the onion - it also tastes very tasty.
