Ingredients

  • 2 large cans chickpeas (self-cooked approx. 1800 g)
  • 200 g sesame paste (Techina - tahini)
  • 0.5 ½ lemon (n)
  • 5 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 2 teaspoons, heaped salt
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup water (about 50 ml)

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl in order. Puree with the hand blender until a homogeneous, cement-like mass is obtained.
  2. Pitta (flat bread) as well as various salads and pickled pickles are served with it. This recipe is dedicated to all Israelis who miss their hummus so badly in Germany.
