Ingredients

  • 1 small turnip (s), swede
  • 2 onions)
  • 75 g ham, diced, lean
  • 1 tablespoon oil, (rapeseed oil)
  • Vegetable broth, grained
  • marjoram
  • Caraway seeds, ground
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 pinch (s) garlic, to taste
  • 250 g chanterelles or canned or frozen or
  • Mushrooms, others
  • Parsley or chives as needed
  • sea-salt
  • Chilli, as needed

Instructions

  1. Total time: 20 minutes
  2. Peel the turnip and cut into slices (bread machine). Cut the slices into strips and then dice.
  3. Bring the cubes to the boil briefly in a well-seasoned vegetable broth, do not let them get too soft, but they should already draw flavor from the broth!
  4. Drain and let cool!
  5. Halve the onion and slice lengthways. Heat the oil, add the diced ham and bacon and lightly brown the onion slices.
  6. Add the chanterelles to this mixture and fry briefly.
  7. Add the beet cubes, season well with marjoram and ground caraway seeds (or, if you like, with whole grains). Add pepper and sea salt, chilli and possibly some Knofi.
  8. Let sizzle vigorously and then serve sprinkled with parsley.
  9. It`s a good alternative to potatoes.
  10. If you don`t have to pay attention to the fat and the calories, you can still add the rapeseed oil.
  11. Fried eggs go particularly well with this.
