Italian Breadsticks “Grissini”

These are the crunchiest crisps! As an appetizer for any dish or drink. You can just put breadsticks on the table as a beautiful, at the same time tasty addition to serving. I sometimes even do a double portion.

Ingredients

  • Dry yeast – 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tablespoon.
  • Warm water – 125 ml
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Flour – 2.5 cups
  • Grated cheese – to taste
  • Sesame – to taste

Directions

  1. Add yeast, sugar to warm water, leave for 10-15 minutes.
  2. When the yeast is right, add salt and oil.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead the dough. Form a ball, place in a bowl, cover and leave for 30 minutes. warm.
  4. Divide the dough into several parts (usually, three pieces are obtained). Roll each piece into a rectangle (my size is 10-15 cm by 25-30 cm) with a thickness of 2-5 mm. Sprinkle the layer with sesame seeds and/or grated cheese, press them a little into the dough.
  5. Cut into strips along the short side, 2-3 cm wide, and twist. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease a baking sheet with oil. Bake for 15 minutes.
