Italian Ciabatta Instructions

  1. Sift flour. Add sugar and salt. We mix. Add spicy herbs if desired. We dilute the yeast with water at room temperature.
  2. We introduce the diluted yeast into the flour. Stir until smooth. Add olive oil. Knead the dough (it should be very soft).

  3. Cover the bowl with plastic foil and leave in a warm place for 2 hours. Cover the baking sheet with parchment and sprinkle it with flour. Gently transfer the dough to a prepared baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the ciabatta dough well with flour and crush, forming a cake. Cover with a towel and let the dough rise.
  5. Using a spatula or knife, divide the risen dough into portioned pieces. We make shallow cuts on each piece so that the ciabatta bakes better.

  6. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Place the ciabatta in the oven. The total baking time is approximately 20-30 minutes. To get a crispy crust, after 10 minutes, sprinkle the surface of the dough with a little water.
  7. Homemade ciabatta is ready.
