Ingredients

  • 80 g butter, soft
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 4 egg (s)
  • 500 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ salt
  • 500g flour
  • 1 packet yeast (dry yeast)
  • 2 apples, tart ones
  • 1 lemon (s), unsprayed, grated zest and juice it
  • Fat for deep-frying
  • Sugar to roll over

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, sugar and eggs in a bowl until frothy. Stir in the salt, lemon juice and lemon zest. Mix the flour and yeast and sift. Add flour mixture and quark. Knead everything into a smooth dough and cover and let rise in a warm place for approx. 30 minutes. In the meantime, peel the apples in quarters and cut out the cores. Cut the apple quarters into small cubes and knead into the yeast dough. Let rise again for about 15 minutes.
  2. Then cut off small dumplings with two moistened tablespoons and fry until golden brown on all sides in the deep fryer. Drain the donuts on kitchen paper and roll them in sugar while they are still hot.
