Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon raisins
  • 30 ml rum
  • 4 egg (s)
  • 125 ml milk
  • 120 g wheat flour
  • 100 g suar
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • some sunflower oil
  • some powdered sugar
  • some cinnamon
  • some jam, (cranberry)

Instructions

  1. Soak the raisins in rum. Separate the eggs. Whisk the egg yolk with the milk. Mix together the flour, 50 g sugar, sour cream and raisins.
  2. Beat the egg white with a pinch of salt until stiff and then carefully fold into the batter with a whisk.
  3. Put some oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the dough generously and when the dough starts to set, stir with a wooden spoon to form medium-sized pieces.
  4. Sprinkle with the butter flakes and the remaining 50 g sugar and then let it turn golden brown on all sides while stirring.
  5. Sprinkle the finished Kaiserschmarren with powdered sugar and cinnamon and serve with cranberry jam.
  6. Tips:
  7. Rum shouldn`t be 80% straw rum - it doesn`t give off such a good aroma.
  8. Spelled flour can also be used instead of the finely ground wheat flour.
  9. Sour cream can also be used instead of sour cream.
  10. If you want, you can add 50 g of ground hazelnuts.
