Lavash Pie with Minced Chicken and Cheese

For sure, no one will refuse a hearty and tasty snack. Lavash pie with minced chicken and cheese is a great addition to a homemade lunch or dinner, to the first and second courses. It is convenient to cut the pie into portions and use it as a snack. Let’s cook!

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 250 g
  • Lavash – 100 g
  • Onion – 1 pc. (120 g)
  • Carrots – 1 pc. (100 g)
  • Milk – 125 ml
  • Hard cheese – 80 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Fresh dill – 3 branches
  • Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Minced chicken can be bought ready-made in a proven butcher shop or cooked at home from chicken fillet or meat from the thighs and drumsticks. Buy hard cheese according to your taste, the main thing is that it melts well. You can make lavash at home or buy it at the supermarket. Instead of dill, any greens are suitable, at your discretion.

Directions

  1.  Rinse the fillets well and pat dry with napkins. Grind in a meat grinder until minced. I cut the fillets into small pieces.
  2. Heat half (2 tablespoons) vegetable oil in a skillet. Layout the minced chicken. Fry over high heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally with a spatula.
  3. Peel the onion and cut it into small pieces. Grate the peeled carrots on a coarse grater. Add vegetables to the skillet with the minced meat. Stir. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Cook over medium heat, about 10 minutes, until vegetables is tender.
  4. Let the finished filling cool slightly.
  5. Beat eggs into a deep bowl. Pour in milk. Shake with a whisk until smooth.
  6. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Chop the washed and dried dill finely. Add cheese and dill to the milk and egg mixture. Pour in the remaining (2 tablespoons) vegetable oil. Stir.
  7. Turn the oven to 200 degrees to preheat. Tear lavash with your hands into small pieces. Add the pita bread to the egg mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir.
  8. You should get a thick mass without liquid. If there is a liquid part, add some more torn pita bread.
  9. Find a suitable ovenproof baking dish. In my case, the size of the form is 13×20. Can be greased with vegetable or butter. I use parchment paper to reduce calories. Place half of the pita bread mixture on the bottom of the mold. Flatten and tamp with a spoon.
  10. Add the sautéed minced chicken. Smooth with a spoon.
  11. Top with the other half of the pita bread mixture. Tamp and flatten with a spoon. Send the mold to a preheated oven to 200 degrees for 30-40 minutes. The baking time depends on the power of your technique and the size of the cake. A golden crust should form on top.
  12. Lavash pie with minced chicken and cheese is ready. Cool slightly in shape. After that, remove and cut into portions.
