Instructions

  1. Beat the butter with the powdered sugar until frothy.
  2. Add the salt, vanilla and lemon and stir in the breadcrumbs. Now stir in the quark and egg.
  3. Let the dough sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Then weigh the amount of dough to form 8 dumplings of the same size.
  4. While waiting, wash the strawberries, sort them and sugar-coat them as you like.
  5. Boil water in a large saucepan (add a little salt and sugar) and put in the dumplings. Bring the dumplings to the boil, then switch back so that they simmer for about 12-15 minutes.
  6. Toast 80g butter with 80g breadcrumbs in a pan. Lift the finished dumplings out of the cooking water with the slotted spoon, drain well and turn in the crumbs. (The amount fits exactly, so that no crumbs remain, but all the dumplings are nicely coated.)
  7. Arrange two curd dumplings per serving and sprinkle with plenty of cinnamon sugar.
  8. In addition, sweetened strawberries (possibly flavored with a little vanilla, orange peel or alcohol)
  9. There is hardly any sugar in the whole recipe and that`s why (if you like it sweet) you can`t be so squeamish about cinnamon sugar. With the not very sweet, fluffy, fluffy dumplings and the sweetened strawberries, the whole thing is rounded off.
  10. The recipe is designed for 4 people for dessert. As a main course, you double the amount.
  11. The curd dumplings are not only a very fine dessert with strawberries in spring.
  12. You can do magic all year round with a wide variety of fruits:
  13. Rhubarb compote,
  14. Apricot roaster,
  15. (Fried) applesauce,
  16. Plum roaster,
  17. Holler dip,
  18. Red fruit jelly,
  19. Amarena cherries,
  20. Rum pot,
  21. Pears in red wine,
  22. marinated orange fillets,
  23. hot cherries or raspberries.
